oh i thought it had passed

why are you confused buddy
if the corrosion was excessive and with in 30cm of that brake load sensing valve in your picture then it should have failed on brakes as i said in my prevous post

basically you have to imagine a ball shape of 30cm with the outer edge on the area of corrosion if you where able to rotate it fully all round that piont then evrey thing in that area is taken in to account ie shock mounts brakes , suspension and so on

Should have failed on the hole by the shocky mounting. Wont fail on a hole in the floor you could have no floor in the back at all, as long as the chassis is in tact as it seemed to be around the LAV.
Its different on a transit as it has ladder frame chassis unlike a car that can fail with a hole in the floor. As for the sill i cant think if there is anything around the area it can fail on.

it will fail in the hole in the floor if it is within the pescribed area
just to confirm this i have a guy here called peter wiggins who is a vosa inspector and trainer
he agrees with me that the hole in the floor will fail if it is with in the pescribed area ie 30 cm of the brake load sensing valve

If you read the testers manual a prescribed area includes the chassis and the surrounding panneling including the floor inner and outer sills and crossmembers/outriggers
(BUT) the load sensing valve as long as it is secure is NOT a prescribed area unless it is within 30 cm of another prescribed area. also a transit van is a monococh body and does not have a seperate chassis as it has no body mounts rgds Andy
