Postby Paul Kenning » Mon Dec 05, 2005 10:07 pm

Just recently i have noticed a whine from the rear when creeping up to 60mph it goes once it drops under 60 mph, as i do a lot of motorway driving it is starting to get on my nerves, has anybody got a cure or know what the problem is.

There's a plug on the front nearside, which is the level/fill point.

Did you do the service? If Ford did it they will not have changed the gearbox or axle oil as they are both non service units! I know Beaufort Ave well, just around the corner from me, although you lived 11 years before I was born!

They suggested i had it done as i was hacing the gearbox done.
Our house was the last one built, before they started up the hill, Remember the Steam Trains running at the back of the house. Used to play in Bluebell Woods above the Tunnel, Harrison Rd School untill they moved us to Bishopsfields, Yes it was a long time ago. Back to the Transit, is it expensive to replace the axel or have the diff reconditioned?
The van is worth keeping as i have modified it for my own purpose so if i have to spend on it so be it.

Ok, Pics will be added tomorrow if it stops raining.
I was in Highlands Rd about a year ago, came of the M27 for a look see, went down Arundle Rd, noticed Fourboys is still there, Fareham and the estate has changed a lot over the years. Thanks for your input
Paul.
