Here's more or less how I got it, bought it to move some heavy machinery which it did well. Now it'a rather surplus to my needs ... but I have just bought a new house that needs work and a tipper would come in handy

So got myself an alloy tipper body from a MK4 with pump and ram etc. The tipper chassis was sound, but the tipper steelwork was well rotten. The whole lot was dismantled to salvage the good bits.
So the flatbed was unbolted and taken off. Christ it was heavy, much heavier than expected! It felt heavier than the tipper bed I just removed off the mk4? Anyways, here's a pic of some steel stips cut, drilled and bolted to the bed ready to have the chassis welded on.

welded

It was damned hot in the full sun, so put this up for some shade

The rear hinge brackets were salvaged of the old bed, cut off and cleaned up but the pivot bush was in a bad way as one side was rusted badly. So on the milling machine to be bored out back to some clean steel.

Now the hole is of course now too big, so an inset is needed
