This is the "gearbox and handbrake & keyless ignition"

Once the other van is done this one is next for a make over as its in decent condition just the usual rust around the arches and windows.

Its not that mint close up in the daylight  The arches are starting to go as is around the windows but its only done 32k and is pretty good for its age its 15 years old tomorrow 8) The chassis and rest of the van is superb.
Cannot make my mind up if I am going to keep it though when the MK5 is finished :?

Not sure on what the colour is until I check the paint code, it started out white and was resprayed for the new owner by Ford in 1991 8)
I would like to keep it but space is limited so it may have to go once the other is finished :(

Well after owning this for 4 months the time has come for a quick refurb :D There have been a few problems, mainly it keeps spitting out the dummy and chucking ATF out of the gearbox also it does not like hills :( and it has trouble passing a petrol station as 17 mpg is all what I have been getting so there are going to be changes  Mainly a new engine, gearbox and the RS wheels I found last year all this starts week after next so I will keep you posted as I go. The last pic is a stainless backbox off a Subaru which cost its owner £180 and he never fitted :? cost me £35 8) so I am going to do my best to make it fit

Re: MK4 my latest addition REFURB TIME

I like the look of that! These wheels look very nice indeed!

Just out of interest, how do you keep you chair in place while you are driving? With every other disabled person's vehicle I saw before, they were just hoisting themselves in the driver's seat...

Cheers, It took nearly 4 weeks work to get them to look like that they were a right state when I got them

Funny you should ask as I have just put a drivers seat in and I chuck myself into that to drive from now.
I did drive from my wheelchair but the police warned me saying I was not secured enough as I should have the wheelchair clamped down for safety if using it as a drivers seat but if things go tits up and you need to get out quick being fastened to the floor is not my idea of safe :?
He also pointed out the damage I would do to my legs if they were crushed by the dash so I pointed out I am paralysed from the chest down and could do no more damage but he had no sense of humour so I didn't argue too much   I had a seatbelt type arrangement that held my chair but they wouldn't have any of it so to save a ticket the six way electric drivers seat was put in.

I would settle for 17mpg if I was giving it some stick and it went up hills :o but it is getting on my nerves not being able to overtake if there is a slight incline ahead :!:

The alloys may be for sale soon depends how the 4.56 diff performs with them on as they are only 14" I might put the 3.91 axle and 16" wheels on to help with traction.
Still not worked out the colour must call at a paint shop and find out, though it looks like Mercury Grey.
