Cheers capn. Using this phone for internet is as painful as the rest of the Friggin phone!
Laptops not usable at present on acct of wee me going nuts if he sees anything that lights up or plugs in...
Dunno where he gets that from....

Will endeavor to get round to one ASAP. Any previous dealings with either of em ?

On a plus note, modified clutch fork with blowlamp and removed failed bush on the counter weight thingy...

Now welded on for a few hdmi leads by a coach works in orpington I never knew existed!

Soon to be refitted by Mvn ASAP!

So it became apparent that the release bearing was fooked... one complete race of balls in the bell housing
Image

still its seen 3 engines and one helluva life so it deserves a rest!

Managed to persuade the defective bush in the clutch fork/arm, the bit of rubber that sleeves the arm into the weighty bit cable attaches to ...
fire and big hammer got the bits apart...lots of fire needed mind! i used my rothenberger blowlamp...

got the end welded back on...for 4 hdmi leads, result ( had to virtually force him to take em, didnt want owt for doing it and i never met him before!)

hopefully gettinh fitted fri , else im fkd for north weald!!!

ps A MK3 ARM WONT FIT LATE TYPE MK5 CLUTCH, ARM TOO SHORT, PULLS OFF OF DOME, DONT BOTHER, WELD IT BACK UP!!

and heres wee me with mates fully automatic, authentic weighted 6mm airsoft machine gun... friggin thing is awesome but you'd get shot dead if seen in public with it, lucky i got a firing range now... :P Fires 6mm paintballs too 8) 8) 8)
and before anyone rings childline... i didnt actually let him have a go...yet!

Rob....As much as don't like pi55ing on your bonfire....

I don't see any grind marks where he's cleaned the weld area and...

I don't see much penetration to the welds :?

my welder didnt even mark the metal m8. seems sound. i bashed the fek out of it , held up so far.... will find out soon, else ill be buying an arc welder

i would have preferred he weld every possible area but as it was done as a favour i thought better of asking. the pix aint the best there is actually penetration , but not to the point where you usually get a 'run' or 'drip'. think also cos the head is so dense it needed more energy to get it molten, and my lil baby mig only does 130A...

and i couldnt find the gas ive since found!

do you still have any seat belts going Cap'n? ill be getting shore leave some point soon...

Well good news is the clutch fork held up. Sadly the plate finally relieved its centre spline of its duty and seperated.
That meant mvm hastily get box off again.
Doh
New plate arrives
Fitted
Bite not possible.
Gear box back out at 5pm
Old clutch cover back on
Box back on last few bolts in 630

Leave Essex sharpish
Get to north weald bout half 7.
Epic

Then it turns out my bolts keep working loose
So starter half handing out one bolt sheared,
And to top it off the dizzy half jumped out of hole again
Friggin Thing.
Drive home (til I hit Basildon) was better running than up strip.
Gutted missed dizzy loose til too late!

Will get there eventually, will do under 20 next time I hope

Off for a much needed soak!
