oh dear :(

right need to find a clutch plate then

are the splines the same on the tranny box to the cosworth (escort) box? and diameter ?

Not sure on the plate diameter thou :?

I feel a wally
got in at 1730 and started to get the gear box out
1830 gearbox sat on floor all ok :D
so whipped off the cover plate all looked fine :?
looked at the fly wheel and oh no :oops: two fly wheel bolts had come loose :oops: was just catching on friction plate
so a quick trip down halfrauds and some locktite
2100 all back together one working clutch and no gearbox noise

so morale of the story thread lock flywheel bolts

never mind no damage done this time :oops: :oops:

see how long it lasts this time 8) :lol: :lol:

@Guy, if you havent got any loctite on them bolts mate I strongly advise you to pull the box off and put some on :!:

You are not as lucky as Tony :!: All the shite you have been through with it proves that :!: If that flywheel comes adrift at speed it will saw through the box (and probably your leg too :shock: ) like a knife through butter :!:

:shock: good point there rover ,that needs sorting out ,its alot of messing but with a high revving powerfull engine like that its best too be safe! :wink:

however i have manged to spray and fit my side door
after having delocked it
cut out and fitted window
also tinted it

Nice door. shows up the rust around the edge now though.
Current Transit: Mk8 tourneo Sport with go faster stripes.

Long time sold: Mk5 LWB 190, 2.5di banana SHR, 3 seats, SLD, Twin rear doors (rusted bottoms), manual locking & windows.

if you struggle to get thread lock like i do round here a dab of paint works just aswell
