just been looking, the 24v std bottom end can take up to 350bhp, if you run a single turbo use no more than 8 psi. thought you might want to no. also did you no that if you used a bob bottom end with a boa topend you will raise the compression to 9.1 producing 260bhp. also using tubuler manifolds would give you an extra 10 to 15bhp. check out passionfords website blokes on there been doing alsorts of things.

thought i'd update this as i've not done for a while :|

i had a leak on the timing chain tensioner and all of a sudden it became too bad to even drive so i set about doing it - easy enough job but a pain to get to alt, pas pump bracket all need to come off, also the plenum and cam covers to lock the cams while the tension is off the chain - anyway all done and so far doesnt leak :D

i'm after a new plenum as the one i modded is a bit ruined  but to fit it i need to fit a smaller servo - i'm thinking about a mk6 one as it's narrower but the other thing i thought of is do away with the servo all together and fit an abs pump but without the abs bit - but thats another thread alltogether as i'm not 100% sure how they work and if they would be ok without abs :?

the other mod i've done to it is fit a towbar  a nice one  i need it as i've provisionally bought a caravan :| just to put me on untill the camper's done :D

i'll post some pics of the towbar later :D :D

just to add, the towbar was off a mk4 to fit these to the earlier vans they do need a slight mod the holes for the bracket were 12mm instead of 10mm and slightly in the wrong position - so i redrilled 4 new holes and it fitted perfect as the chassis rails are exactly the same width :D

There's quite a few 24V cortinas running the sierra ABS pump and master without the ABS, the bloke who does the conversions runs the pump from an ign live i believe.

they'd fit perfect in the mk2 8) only difference i did to what sundowners done was mount them further down in the door to give me more room for a speaker and where he's cut a slot i've cut a hole and poked the end through :D

i was gonna take a video of them working but i cant seem to get my camera to video :? mabe it doesnt have that feature

next job a couple of speakers  viewtopic.php?f=13&t=68999 :D

Luke have you towed anything yet with the 24V?

Has anyone ever towed two tonne with a 24V granada scorpio? Should be OK you think? - As I remember the torque curve was still better than the Di, even at low rpms. Just wondered what damage it might do as those six cylinders are smaller and its petrol...if any? :D
