v6 cosworth conversion

Postby Blaki76 » Thu Aug 20, 2009 10:13 pm

Hi, i have been offered a granada scorpio v6 cosworth for much cheepness and has made my mind work overtime. My mk2 transit currently has a 3litre v6 essex fitted with a 4speed manual g/box with overdrive. the engine and box is from a 1971 ford zodiac. I'm wondering if the engine from the granada would mate onto the zodiac g/box. granada box is auto. Would be greatful of any info, thanks :D

no it's a different fit :(

the cossy conversion is easier with the auto box - if you want a manual 5 speed type9 is the easyest way :D

Would really like a manual box for the fun element of having a cossie
What vehicles came with type9 g/box?

gets tricky - you need a v6 one with the long input shaft V6 sierra Xr4i and granada V6s

a normal type 9 wont be long enough to support the shaft in the crank bearing - you'd also need the v6 bell housing

the other way is an MT75 transit box with adapter plates from a V6 transit - have a read of my progress thread for that - loads of pics and info :D
