And yes i allways thought fast transit would be aweosme fun. I am intending to build a 250Ci Six cylinder with a special head for mine when i have the time and money. And couple it to an American AOD getbox wiht a stage one shift kit..... Should get the old bus moving enough to tow the boat properly and suprise the ricers.

I scared the sheet out of myself in my tranny winding it out way past 140k's (90mph). Actually it felt ok but I had to stop in a hurry and boy did she weave to a halt. Took a while too. You ever tried to double shuffle down the gears in a hurry while braking...I tell you it's not a very gracefull heel/toe experience. I guess they didn't have ergonomic engineers in them those days.

i was going to put a jag V12 in my frankensp***ter (needed 2 small box out bits to clear inlets ) but with an auto box it was going to be a thursty beast so i got a nana for it

i kown everything is possible with a gas axe and large grinder and a mig but its a big BUT has anyone put this ford yank v8 into a tranny before ??? with or without transmision andy

I know it has been done in Mark 1s (I wanted to do it myself when I changed to a bigger L6 fifteen years ago) but has it ever been done without having to change to an automatic transmission because of the lack of room for the clutch pedal?

I hate automatic transmissions so that would be a no-no.

I knew automatic gearboxes were very heavy but I got a surprise when reading that my T5 was only 85 lbs, and my 250 c.i. engine doesn't seem that heavy compared to the weight of many much less powerful engines in other brands of vehicles, although with only thirty to fifty lbs extra weight some of those V8s do look atractive.
