Fuse 72 blowing mk7

Postby avromo » Wed Aug 06, 2025 1:00 am

Hi my radio is currently not working
When I change fuse 72 it keeps on blowing
I am trying to trace this
I noticed that it says that this fuse also powers "phone supply" anyone know what this is referring to?

Thanks

I actually removed all interior bulbs intending to replace with led but have not yet. I was wandering if that was the cause but are they not on a different fuse?

Nope. Fuse 72. If the issue started around that time. Suspect the lights.

Cheers

Managed to get the radio out (why do they make it so annoying and why did my trim kit only come with 2 keys aaargh and are they made to cut fingers??!!)
No longer blowing the fuse so I assume it's a prob with the radio itself?
I had an old pioneer but the loom is different what should I be looking for to replace with?

Maybe an ISO converter loom like this to use your Pioneer?

Just got a loom off Amazon and plugged in an old stereo I had to test and it works no more fuse 72 blowing. So for ppl that have this issue it turns out a faulty head unit can cause the fuse to blow, quite an easy thing to rule out before checking all wiring

I am noticing that the stereo seems to reset each time I turn off the engine, is the loom I bought missing a trick?
