"Upstream" would be towards the tank from the filter....fuel flows from tank to filter to pump...anything between filter and pump/injectors will be "downstream" of the filter. Just imagine the flow of the fuel...the source is the tank...which is upstream of everything else...last in the line would be the injectors which is downstream.

Aah right!
Of course when the fuel is running back to the tank then it's the other way round! :D.
I'm actually thinking of trying to simulate the process with a brake bleeding kit I have somewhere around which is a similar configuration.
But not today or tomorrow. I'm concentrating on the high FRP issue for the time being which should maybe be a different thread? I've already been accused of hijacking a thread and I wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings :( .
