I can see that the campsite talk on this issue will be going on well into the "wee morn" at Mania this weekend. I really hope that everyone that has posted here will be there to defend their corner.
I somehow doubt that they ALL will. Maybe I shall be proven wrong.

I have no intentions of stirring things up.
Will there be a rwd 2.4 mtdi in a mk7 conversion? . A mate of mine is looking at a mk7 with blown engine and thinking of buying and rebuilding it as he will then know its history. Ive been telling him about the conversion thats been shown on here.

Hi there, it would be a natural progression to offer this.
The simplest solution being to install a Mk6 2.4 Tddi engine fitted with Mk7 ancillaries and our Mdti pump. This looks to be a simpler 'swap' than the FWD Mk7 :D

Retain the Mk7 flywheel and crankshaft sensor and the rev counter will most likely work.

That's fine for the mk6 2.4 90ps that use VP30 pump. MTDI is a straight forward fitment.

2.4 engines from 115ps upwards uses VP44 pumps. You'll have to put together another pump for them.

Come to think of it. Ford already supply a mech pumps for mk6 2.4 engines 8)
For example - Mech pump for the 2.4 120/125ps TDDI engines is 1C1Q-9A543-AC :P

A 120/125 isnt the same type of pump that can fail on other mk6s?
Im still learning thats the only reason i ask.

Sorry I wont be there but will be flying over the site and if I see a Peugeot Boxer with a head in it with a mouth as big as the Grand Canyon I will pull the plug on the honey pot and dump the load on him.

Yes Bosch VP30 & VP44 both have EDC's which do fail - Common problem
These 2 pumps are fitted to Mk6 TDDI engines.

Mk6 TDCI engines use a Delphi fuel pump with high pressure fuel rail - Known as common rail
