replacing fuel filter on a mk7

does anyone know where the bleed screw is and how can i bleed it someone says fill the new filter full of fuel and screw it back on and then turn over when starts rev it for a few minites or do you open the water drain screw and bleed it that way pllz help thanks

There is no bleed screw on a mk7 filter housing.

You do exactly what many threads on here say.

On a warm engine

1) get a genuine ford filter.
2) fill it with fuel.
3) remove the old filter and promptly fit the new one - no stopping for a tea or a fag.
4) start the engine and keep the revs around 2,000 for a minute or two.

and you've got a mk7.5

I did the same. Filled the bowl with diesel from a can, put the new element in and fastened it back on the filter housing. Started engine but i didnt know you was supposed to hold a few revs i left it ticking over. It stopped twice but restarted straight away. With these filters u can see how dirty they get mine was black!

To be fair OP didn't say if it is Euro 5 or other.

It's still fill the filter with diesel, then keep the revs up when restarting.

The theory behind doing it on a hot engine is that the air you've let in goes back to the tank rather than staying in the filter/pump loop.

i got the fuel filter from a1 motor spares and it is the same as the old 1 so ill give it a go my mk6 ad a bleed screw on it but ill do what you have told me and thanks everyone who as educated me on this

Because he has a euro5 which has a filter assembly with removable element, not a canister type like euro 4
