From 2012 E5 2.2. Nov 2022. Timing cover not aligned, seal distorted, found one hole in timing cover too small to allow alignment.
The 5 bolts are not screwed in.
There's other ways of doing this. About 33 ft lbs + 90 degrees for each of 3 bolts. Did get about 30 degrees.

Just seen this Crankshaft pulley tool - for £19 is an easier way of doing it.
Looks like put the pulley on, the 3 bolts in place nip up. Put the tool on - with a socket through the larger hole tighten up the bolt - tighten all three then torgue up to spec.
A pipe to extend the lever part might be required.
