2.2 155ps tdci conversion.

I have decided to get an upgrade for my van. I've located an engine that needs a water and pas pump, rocker cover, engine loom and pcm. would be grateful if anyone could help with any of these.
also have the 6 speed box to fit to it, don't know whether i can put my linkage cables straight on or I'll have to fit the mondeo gearstick and cables, haven't seen the mondeo set up before.

any advice greatly appreciated

HI its mr torneo engine change.
in end put mondo tdci 2.2L 155ps in. just ran it up the uther day sounds pretty good so far. all i have to do now is sort the boost acuator out, ive welded a pipe in to the boost side to fit a boost gauge so i can adjust the acuator, if dose eney body know wate the boost shud be ??

what mondeo parts did you need?

i have a full mondeo 115tdci as a doner.

the 155ps engine i have has the vvt on as my 125ps, as far as i'm aware the turbo actuator (controlled by a standard solonoid) alters the vains to give boost quicker at low engine speeds, not alter boost unlike the fixed geometry turbos which have a waste gate actuator.

i'm sure martynx will put me straight if i'm wrong.

sertainly will , i'll do a few other mods first. do you know of anywher i can get the van on a roller, the only place i know can't fit my van in the door.

i now have two tdci 125ps engines for sale, one needs injectors and fuel rail sensor , and clutch, with 65k on.
the other will be coming out of my van complete with pcm with less than 10k on.

Yes they have a VNT (variable nozzle turbo) not a wastegated turbo.


The nozzle position of the turbo's variable vane bit is controlled by an actuator that looks the same as you would find on a wastegated turbo but the pipe to this is controlled not by boost pressure but by the ECU via an electronically controlled vacuum solenoid so you need this unit from the 155 mondeo as well if you have fitted the loom & ecu etc from the mondeo.

If you havent fitted the loom & ecu from the mondeo then snakemaster may know the best way to make it work as he fitted a VNT to a smiley banana i think..

Good - look forward to it.. not sure about rollers , most i know wont accommodate Vans either ..

i think the boost should be 2.6 or 2.8 bar.

Hi, all modeo loom was removed and old tourneo loom fitted, egr and cooler removed, tourneo egr and cooler fitted, drive shaft bearing support changed over, manifold, alternator, ac pump, frunt engine mount, not to shur wether good ider or not but changed rail senser over to. flywheel clutch pressur plate all same, all bolted together fine, it started up fine, but with no boost controler at moment,
the turbo is the 2.2L tdci one so i have taken the electronic acuator off witch operats the V V control and am about to fit and ajust the vacum control unit from origenal set up to operate turbo. im sure it may ned a bit of mapping though. i havent driven it yet but i set the boost control half way and let my dear wife try it (as it is for her) dont know how good it was but it took me an hour to get her out??. that boost quoted sounds a bit high dont know wether my pcu will allow that. change of plan, now going to put a 2.2 175ps tdci in. (Martynx's idea).

as for the 2.0 tdci my turbo boost is always around 260kpa 2.6bar, which nighthawk says is spot on.
