Crackling Dab radio

Well I've had my new transit for 3 weeks now and I've got a crackling coming through the speakers when using the DAB radio stations, it also jumps/skips every now and then too. None of the above happens when using the normal fm stations!! Has anyone come across this before and know what the fault might be?

I have this on our 350 H2L2 as well. I have tried to pin it down and so far I realise that the DAB seems to switch automatically to FM if it can't get the DAB signal.
I have tuned in a couple of stations on both FM and DAB and don't know if it is using the auto stored FM when it needs to or doing something else. I had a word with the chap in Allen Ford commercials in Swindon from whence my vehicle came and he said it shouldn't be doing that but then he doesn't seem to know a lot because I nearly ordered a Custom until I realised it had smaller width side loading doors and he said he didn't know!

I do the M4 into London regularly and sometimes the DAB switches and other times it doesn't. I'd say that was a problem but I am a driver not a mechanic / engineer so until I see it here I will not be convinced.

My standard Fm radio does the same thing it seems to jump and skip also, it's due it's first service in a few weeks so I'm going to get them to check it out. Not good though.
