Surging fault

Hi All
My 2015 2.2 has a surging issue below 2k revs. Or holding a steady throttle, and when there's a bit of strain going up a hill.
Changed egr valve for a genuine ford one, it was ok for over a week then came back. Surging wasn't so bad with new egr valve. Compared with last one.

Cleaned the air flow and map sensor electrical cleaner seems a bit better.
Can still feel a slight surge. But I expect it will worse as it learns

On live data can see the Egr valve is causing the the surge.

Hesitation occurs like this: EGR opens, van hesitates, the MAP drops, EGR closes, power increases, and the cycle repeats.

Few people have had this problem but don't see any of the problem been solved

You are going to have to monitor both EGR and turbo activity

There will be a commanded and actual pid on forscan for both

Commanded and actual on the EGR.. actual should follow commanded

also same for the turbo but not necessarily in tandom with egr

Look at them in percent

if one of them doesn't follow its commanded percent .. then that's where your fault lies

EGR. well you have a new one .. hopefully with a gearbox .. if not, suspect that

Turbo has a vane actuator .. similar type of with gearbox .. the vanes get stuck and the gearbox strips its plastic gears.

If non of them. then look for holes in the boost pipe .. common around the alternator area where it touches one of the bolts .
