I bought tint from those guys. It's ok stuff but the thing I found with it though is you need a really soft squeegee/applicator or it will get scratches on it. Nothing major just a bit annoying really

i'm going to have a go at doing the tint on my van. I know you mention in your thread, that you got Limo tints, and i was wondering if they were 5% or 15% tints you got.
i read in an ad on ebay that the darker 5% tints could also be a bit dark looking from the inside outwards, but yours look to give a good veiw out, while still being very dark on the outside, i think you have the perfect balance there.

The tints I used were 5% Limo Tints, you cannot see in if walking past, but if you are up close to the window you can, from the inside you can see out clearly but you do notice it's darker.

Me and the kids had great fun testing out the tints

Thanks Ron,
that's good news, i feel better now knowing what the 5% tints look like from the inside. I'm defo going with them, the darker on the outside the better 8)

I've looked at a few different sellers on ebay but i guess you just kinda have to take pot luck, i mean each seller on there says they are better then the other lol

but i was thinking of trying this onehttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290767973960? ... 1423.l2649 fingers crossed

Just checked eBay, here's the stuff I boughthttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260749199112 & thishttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260734493034 to fit it all :)

Due to the on/off rain today did not get much done.

Managed to sort the rear doors :D
Re-attached the heated window connectors on both sides.
Welded over the 3 small holes on the n/s.
Small amount of filler over the sanded holes & a quick coat of red oxide (Not ideal, i might put a coat of white paint over the oxide so it doesn't stand out so much, until it warms up more)
Finally I have straight & a lot less rusty doors  :D

Now for the front doors.

Stripped down both replacement doors so I can work out what I need to swop over & where things should go  learning on the job
On each replacement door I
Removed the mirrors (n/s smashed & not heated so will bin, o/s heated so will swop with mine)
Removed the door cards with switch/s (1 on n/s & 2 on o/s)
Removed the wiring looms (took pictures so I now know where they re-connect)
Removed the electric window regulator with motors

 FINALLY  Removed the complete central door lock assembly with the handle pull thing attached to it's metal riveted backing thingy
This was a right pain to remove, anyway managed to get it out in the end :D
Also removed all glass & anything else I could get off & stored in my spares pile

Fitted the o/s complete central door lock assembly & re riveted the thingy back on

Rain stopped play so had a late dinner, then decided to connect the loom to the e/w motors so I could test them all before fitting,
(glad I did as I have a problem, will post that separately, as I am 100% it will get sorted)

Had enough by then so gave up till the morning

(glad I did as I have a problem).....

The n/s e/w does not seem to work
wired up as they should be in me footwells & only 1 switch on the o/s operates the o/s regulator
Neither the 2nd switch on the o/s or the n/s switch operates the n/s regulator

The switches look very similar so I swopped them all 1 at a time with the o/s switch 1 postion & they all work the o/s regulator (So all switches are working)
When I swop the n/s regulator to the o/s switch 1 position they both work 100% (So window regulators are working)

So i'm guessing I've narrowed the problem down to either the n/s loom or my wiring in the bus

Can I put the n/s loom on the o/s connectors in the bus to see if it's the loom or will this damage anything?
Is there anything else I can try?

Tony did mention I may need to speak with you about wiring if the windows did not work.

The passengers side does not work with the passenger switch or the 2nd switch on the drivers side, but I'm guessing same as you, as when connected to drivers side the drivers switch works it.

Did not earth out any wires :? lmk when you get a chance

from memory, cos i had to make up my own loom, as van didnt have it already... there will be a few black wires coming from each door, these require earth.
just put em in a ring terminal and screw to chassis or body of van behind the plastic trim in footwell!

Will check n/s loom again in the morning if its dry as from memory there are no loose black wires on the loom only plugs
2 oval that connect in footwells, 1 for c/l, 1 for e/w, 1 for heated mirror, 1 for speaker in both doors
then 1 more on the n/s for e/w switch & 2 on the o/s for e/w switches

I get what you mean by the ring terminal & screw now ( just googled ring terminal    ) just don't know what needs earthing at the other end yet.

Will look in the morning, thanks for your help m8 :D

if anything, the door plugs will be fine, but there will be wires in door plug that dont meet a corresponding wire in the van socket. i ended up tinning the end of a bit of wire with soldering iron, and jammed it into the hole in the vans socket to meet the orphaned wire in the door plug... other end of wire got screwed to earth! :D

Tackled the electric windows
Drivers side all in working 100%
Passenger side cannot put in until can get power working through the switch

Checked in Haynes wiring diagram at switch
Switch has 7 pins, all pins present except pin 5 (og/bu interior illumination)
Remaining 6 pins all present in loom & colours as stated in manual

So only pin 5 missing for footwell light

Any suggestions?

Also fitted central locking to both doors
Drivers lock only locks & unlocks drivers side
Passenger lock, locks & unlocks both doors

Any suggestions why the drivers lock will not lock or unlock the passenger side?

What would I need to convert the manual locks to remote locking/unlocking?
