Had my van in to another garage for this problem today as i wasnt happy with the outcome from the last Garage.
It was the N/S driveshaft that was causing the vibrating, 2 of the 3 bearings within the rubber boot nearest the gearbox had collapsed. I've gotten the van back tonight and yes I'm pleased the vibration has stopped
However the van is wandering all over the road now. Trying to drive it down the dual carrage way and its all over the place, when I accelerate it pulls to the right and i find myself steering left to keep it in a straight line, of cause when lifting off the throttle to change gear it pulls left due to compensating while accelerating.
If I accelerate hard in 2nd it pulls violently over to the other side of the road.
Spoke t the mechanic on the phone when I got home and he said "I've road tested it and its normal tondo that its called torque, the ford boys get it alot and just compensate with the steering. What a load of bollocks its an 18 diesel not a focus rs!!!
Needless to say I'm friggin fuming with mechanics!!
I'm taking it for tracking in morn to see if this corrects it.
Any ideas what would cause this???
Cheers
