Ok, been to see the forge about these cacking springs. They say they can have a go at reducing the large eye of the spring to accommodate the smaller bush. They will need to grind back the curl and pressure close. Its possible but there is a 50/50 chance of the spring eye snapping and it will cost 20 per spring...what do we think? Worth a shot? Is spring metal really that brittle or is this a line? :)

Not content to be easy, troublesome puk decided he had to have his engine dropped to get the new head gasket on, only to find id brought the wrong gasket...poo bum : /

So sorry, it was a rocker cover gasket...but...yipee, timing done, steering sorted, just in time for the adventures...also a bit more edumacated about engines and stuff now :) coffee supplies down to an all time low, hopefully will restock for works later in the year :)

Like you wouldnt believe! No smouldering oil smell, new carpets so not too loud, keeping up, tonight i am a very very proud transit camper owner :) :) :)
