right i have a problem with the fuel supply
i think i have a way round it but just want some opinions

i have a cossie fuel pump below and need to connect this to the fuel tank

the feed to the pump is 15mm what i was thinking of doing was to cut the old pick up out of the fuel sender unit and braze in some 15mm copper pipe then use some rubber fuel hose to connect them :D

does everyone think this will work?
also will the pump be man enough to suck the fuel up? or will it need to be gravity feed

here is the pump

It will suck it BUT if its higher than the fuel level it will end up being run dry, wearing it out and getting air in :(

I have on mine a Low pressure pump to my swirl pot then gravity to the EFI pump 8)

It would probably be cheaper to get a Facet pump and refulator, then you wont have to mess with the tank at all, bung in your swirl pot under the bonnet and you dont even need a return pipe :D

i was looking at the sierra cossie set up
it runs with a take off from the bottom of the tank
so i could run the pump with an output from the swirl in the bottom of the tranny tank
just need i copper connector 15mm then drill a hole in the bottom of the tank

maybe :?:

the swirl pot is a good idea but i've never run one, but if you go round corners with low fuel it does tend to cut out so it is a good idea to stop that, as for pump,

as for pumps, i've always just used an old 2.8i capri/granada or what ever, even an old xr3i pump would do, old granadas had i little frame with the pump and a filter mounted, they work fine, you can put the pump anywhere, i've even had the pump mounted on the inner wing, on a capri i did once i even put the pump in front of the rad, if you can get a capri one with the bango's and a bit of pipe still attached, normal (reinforced) fuel pipe goes over original pipes with a couple of small jubilee clips, job sorted, its a lot cheaper than going get special pumps and stuff.
