i used the transit hose from the heater which 'tees' into the pipe from the header tank, which then goes the the copper pipe you can see in the photo, this then carries on to the oil cooler.

Do you think the the pump will be ok in the engine bay, as in, will it pull the fuel ok or will i need to mount it under the van

That copper pipe reroute you have done I am very surprised no one has commented on what you have used, plumbing pipe is fine in straight runs but to use bends AND have them right by the the exhaust is asking for trouble. The heat WILL melt that solder and that will be a big problem. I will admit it is a clever bit of thinking but so the wrong product to use (in this case)

what about if i brazed it with silver solder?
also its aircon pipe which is thicker so hope it will be ok
the temp of the engine should only reach 110 degrees at most so i hope the coolant from the engine would keep it cool enough?

Tony ,

Exhaust heat will melt copper solder, but only if the manifold is so close it is practically touching...... Air is a very good insulator, and with a flow of air around the engine bay, i wouldn't worry, i am doing the same in my installation.....

Cheers :P

Got the swirl pot fully mounted on the new bracket now also fitted the red top behind it and run the fuel line from the red top to the swirl pot.
Looked where to mount the injection pump and filter

so next weekend when my injection hose, relay box and fuse box arrive i might be able to go for a start :D

still got the fuel tank to empty and wash out, fuel lines to run from the tank to the red top and back again
and the rear seats to mount before the tank goes back up

keeps me out of trouble 8)

Tony, did you get the Red Top new, or s/h? If new, do you know the spec, is it the 35 gph, or the 45 gph one?

Thanks .... :)
