'83 MK2 Van from France

Hello everyone,

This is my MK2 Van from 1983 with the 1.6 engine.

It has 93*** km on the odometer and I don't know if it's original or not.

It is in pretty good shape, completely rust free except for the exhaust which will be soon replace.

It has a slide driver door (left hand drive here) and additional lamps.

Here are some pictures of it :

















What i plan to do :
- Replace all fluids + filters;
- Replace the timing belt, the spark plugs and the exhaust;
- Verify and adjust the valves clearances;
- Do a good detailing
- Replace the air-box (it has fall on the exhaust and melt );
- Replace the seats (not in good shape);
- Modify the rear to put an enduro bike and some storage;

Just one question : What oil should i put in the gearbox and in the rear differential ?
I have some 75W80 Extreme pressure (gearbox) and some Castrol EPX 90, would those fit ?

75/80 EP is the correct oil you need

i think the front lights might be factory extras - i had a mk2 ambulance and they were mounted the same way

I don't know if it was renovated or no for sure but i don't think so. Well kept and maybe just a paint job !

I forgot to talk to you about a little corrosion under the drivers windows. You can see the oxydes leak on the door !

I received my new exhaust, i will take some pictures when i'll install it !
