My mk5 smiley V6 Jag engined van

Postby Pocketrocket » Mon Jul 20, 2015 7:22 pm

Just thought id start a build thread for my first transit. Picked it up yesterday ( sunday ) and its a good base to start from, needs a bit of welding here and there but nothing thats not repairable.
Got talking about this project with luke on our way back from the racing weekend at north weld (great weekend...loved it!), a van came up for sale and im picking up the donor car tomorrow for its engine.
Its having a s type jag v6 packing 240bhp! (should be enough)
The rest will be history!
I'll now try and get some pics on :?

No will be in the front as usual, still want it to be a usable van (as well as showing up a few cars at north weald next year) as I want a set of seats in the rear/boarded out and carpeted.
Driven sensibly I should still see early to mid 20mpg which will be an improvment on the discos 18-19 mpg

Should be good :)

The biggest problem for racing is grip at the rear axle, and because nearly all the weight is at the front its a challebge to get it planted (less of a problem on tourneos though as they have weight in the rear!)

What fuel and ignition system are you going to use? Been having similar thoughts about putting one into my mk2
