Define original. if I use Mk1 parts, which would have exsisted in 1973, keep as much of the original and use new materials for the repair to the rest, how can you say that's 'modern'?

Neil wrote:good point fred and it will be original than most is it a listed crash repair :?: if not yes original but repaired define original mmmmm1 mechanically as manufactured 2 interior fixtures seats clocks etc 3 bodywork unrepaired exeption of minor rust there was a swb van on ebay recently made about 2600 quid

It was paid out on the insurance as a repair, not a wrightoff so won't be on the insurance register. Added to that it was in 1974 so I doubt records would go back that far!!!

1, yes mecahinaclly as manufactured
2, interior, seats dash ect all original from the munufacturer as ordered and delivered (even the crossplys, which will have to go!)
3,accident damage must be repaired but I don't see that as counting the same as cutting out rust or replacing rotten panels.

No idea as to final value, but I am sure I will have a fight on my hands with the insurance as I tried to get classic insurance before, and three different classic insurance companies said they would not insure large vans like transits, despite them being over 20 years old.

It looks like the repairs are going to be done in Sheffield, I first have to get her up north so I am waiting for a flatbed to go that way. Not too long I hope, and you can always go and have a peek Luke!!! She'll be 33 next year, so has waited long enough.
