Side windows fitting. Wiltshire/Dorset

Postby MikeHamling » Mon Mar 14, 2016 11:17 pm

I'm looking to have the rather dated old side windows in our van replaced with some modern flush bonded glass. National Windscreens seem the obvious choice at least for price but wanted to ask members here for advice before getting my wallet out. I'm in Salisbury but happy to travel a reasonable way to get it done.

cheapest i could do onre window. tinted . in side door was about £200. that included everything, window, sealant, fitting ,beading etc.

i bought the window from a uk seller on eBay, then got a local windscreen company to fit it.
i did buy 2 windows but only had one fitted, the other is still boxed up in the gararge

I'll try most things Reverend but cutting holes in the side of the van is a step too far. I remember a Paddington Bear book when I was a child where is he tries to stop Mr Brown's table from wobbling by chopping a bit of each of the other legs. He basically ends up with a table with no legs and tries to glue it back together with marmalade. There's a valuable lesson to be taken from from that...

grandads_shed - really useful info as National Mobile Windscreens will fit a slider and a non-slider for £400 incl VAT which suggests it's a pretty good price.

I'll post some pictures when it is done

you can't really go wrong cutting the hole unless your really really pissed all you are doing is following the frame with a jigsaw
