MK1 Door runners problem, pics...

Postby browneye » Thu Nov 03, 2005 11:33 am

ok my mk1's sliding doors are something i need to get workin, i really need to drive with the doors open, and currently they dont lock open like they should, i think ive narrowed the prob down to the plastic runners they use, (2 on the top of each door), mine have worn down (i think) and now the door sags, and the latch on the door to lock the door in place does not line up with the lock on the body or the van. at least i THINK/HOPE this is my issue :?

thats a sample i found off a mk1 at the wreckers as i dont want to take my doors off because i have no garage for my beast yet.

Does anyone know where i can get these from,??? id even be willing to pay postage from the europe or something, as it seams no one in Australia has these. or has anyone replaced them or can help me out with this issue.? ive even thought of popping the rubber wheel out and trying to get a nolothane item machined up etc etc....but i have not figured out if it will even pop out without destroying the bracket.

appreciate any help with this.

Cheers.

they wont load properly because you linked to your university website and they tend to alwasy redirect to a disclaimer, making hot linking the images almost impossible, simply open the image in a new window by copying the address then click proceed on that webpage :) ..... EDIT, once you have accepted those disclaimers the images will load in your post

as for your problem your sumation seems about right, although i am not sure if you cant re-align stuff so that they catch

didnt Luke have an issue with some sliding doors, was looking for a part, maybe he will be well versed in the sliding door mechanism and what could eb your problem
