world rally transit

i always thought it was a great concept, ford were the only people to carry such an idea through. does anyone know if it was ever used in anger? i seem to remember that it was rumoured that it was only a mock up based on a diesel. anyone?

The world rally transit only has the standard diesel but according to Ford they change it every now and again! Wouldn't say what to though. Also there's a world rally ranger!

The Msport prepared WRC transit still has the original 2.4 engine, it goes like fook but don't expect it to pass an MOT smoke test

The van has MOT as it is road legal and Gary Whittam brought it to the Van Nats and it was driven on the backbone cruise, although I believe there has been 4 of then now, guess they must change the plate! But like I said thay have had different engines in them!

Dunno could be either, the 2.4 is available in the front wheel drive.

2.4 has never been offered in front wheel drive (V185) form.

I know the vehicle drives on the road,.... unless stopped by plod for a routine it's not a problem. But thats being picky, the PCM is replaced with a standard item for general driving iirc, it's only when it's doing it's thing that the "special calibration" is used.

The last time I saw it, it would do 130mph and was 200bhp.

i remember my bro trying to get a world rally ranger as a company car, he works for a ford dealership. he thought it was ideal as he likes to go away in his caravan a lot. miserable bleeders would only give him a tdci mondeo ghia x. it's tough out there...

That would have been one of the Martini Rangers not the World Rally Ranger!
