Just for anyone's information, the vcm2 I bought came with the sp239b board, like this one: http://www.obdexpress.co.uk/wholesale/v ... ccEALw_wcB

The case looks the same but the board is different to the sp177. The sp239b has no physical reset button and I was unable to downgrade it's firmware via vci manager. If your wanting to use v86 of go for one of the sp177 boards.

looking to buy an IDS clone for use on my 2013 2.2 350 (125)
I've got a new turbo to fit this weekend, an egr turbo feed and return lines and few other bits, but i fear that even when ive done all that I still have some fuelling issue so I think Ill be needing it instead of guessing at the issues!
Can anyone link me to the right bit of kit please as I dont want to go wasting money on the wrong bit of kit.
I have a panasonic tough book running windows 10 that I use for VAG-COM, I presume this will be adequate, Im in manchester if theres anywhere Local
Many Thanks

Not really sure why you'd need it, euro 5 are limited to only clearing the learned values, not sure ids is worth the money tbh. I've cleared the values on my custom a few times and it has made no difference :?

Ah I see, I did not know this I'm a bit new to diagnostics, so what would you suggest for checking what the issues are with my van as far as fault finding?
Thanks

Forscan is free software and the modified elm 327 adaptor with hs can switch is cheap enough.
Forscan will read and clear codes and configure etc. 8)

Is anyone able to link etis with their pass thru and go online to network test their van? There is a pilot learn that isn't available on my ids but it's available in service functions in etis.

Or does anyone have a new version of ids that shows injector pilot learn in native service functions? Do I need to upgrade?

I've pmd him on fb but he uses the ids3 which I don't have.

I'm looking at newer vcm as i only have v96.

I can go to the dealer and ask them to look for pcm update and pilot learn but my local dealer doesn't convince me that he's doing the work, anyway for a simple pilot learn function I really need to be able to do it. I think maybe I'm OK with older transits but limited in the newer ones, can't do keys and red is noisy so I need to update myself i think.

If anyone has ids 110 or newer and a transit custom, could they maybe do a screen grab of pcm service functions please. :o

Cheers.

Hi again, managed to get a working clone with 112.01, but it's having some trouble.
Using manual entry and inputting the pcm number I can connect to the van, but IDS can't talk to the PCM. The van drives fine so I don't believe there's a probleym, I get this message when I run the self diagnosis test:

Any ideas

Also tested connecting to my fiesta and it auto recognised the car instantly.

HEADS UP. Received email from Ford this morning, regarding Fords new software will be available soon to download - Global Ford Diagnostic and Repair System
(GFDRS)

& yes you'll have to pay to use it....

You will be able to purchase a 48hr, 1 month or 12 month (Annual License). Global FDRS license will incorporate a Ford IDS License.
Access to FordEtis online i.e. mechanical repairs, Wiring diagrams etc. and Global FDRS Applications for unlimited Vehicle Identification Number’s (VIN’s) entered for the Global FDRS License purchased.

***NOTE***

Existing Users that have purchased an Annual Ford IDS License, (via the FordEtis Online Application) from Ford of Europe will be able to use Global FDRS with their existing Ford IDS License until it expires. Once it expires, You will be able to purchase a 48hr, 1 month or 12 month(Annual License) Global FDRS License.
Existing Users that have purchased a Ford IDS License via another supplier/company other than Ford of Europe. Will need to purchase a 48hr, 1 month or 12 month (Annual License) Global FDRS License to be able to use the Global FDRS Application.

If you do not have a licence. You will be prompted to purchase a license through ETIS (Motorcraft licenses will NOT be accepted).

It appears thats there will be a "Changes & Upgrades page" for vehicle modules etc. Which would be VERY HANDY
