Nox sensor 8 pin connector.

Postby s4kdriver » Wed Oct 30, 2024 5:32 pm

I have a 2014 2.2 rwd minibus showing an adblue fault (P207f). I have narrowed it down to the downstream nox sensor ( by swapping from a different vehicle ). I have checked continuity on the six wires from the sensor but am interested in the component housed in the rubber cover on the back of the 8 pin connector to the module. This connects two pins with black and white wires and seems to have very high resistance, around 18.5 meg ohms. I cannot get to the other vehicle for a few days to compare the reading so wonder if any of you guys have knowledge of what this component is and any readings i should get from it.

"Adblue fault"..?? Wasn't aware the 2.2 Euro-5 ran "adblue"..?? Normally P207F is a DPF issue....very common to see DPF faults unfortunately....right up there will faulty doorlocks and FOB issues.

Thanks Knobby, 2014 minibus was Euro 6 but with a modified 2.2 engine using adblue which causes no end of problems. The fault is definitely the nox sensor, just trying to see if I may be able to 'fix' it rather than fork out for a new one.

Fair enough...I didn't think Euro-6 started until 30th May 2016 with the 2.0 Panther engine..?? I stand corrected.

This is a minibus. It doesn't seem to be widely known but all (I believe) factory built minibuses from 2014 onwards were fitted with adblue, using the same 2.2 engine as corrresponding vans but changes to exhaust system, ECU etc to meet Euro 6 requirements. As stated previously this has led to a lot of issues (ask anybody who runs these minibuses) and this is often compounded by a lack of knowledge of this particular set up but also a lack of spares which differ from the van equivalents.
Thanks for your interest.

Problem solved. Although it is a different part number I swapped out the downstream nox sensor for a new upstream sensor ( genuine ford from ebay, less than 1/3rd of price) and hey presto, adblue malfunction gone. The only difference between the two nox sensors appears to be the length of cable between the sensor and 8-pin plug.
