Slight 'incident' today

coming back from the MOT im doing about 20mph then theres a fooking great bang and a bump on the floor pulled off the road whent for the brakes and theres sod all there so heave on hand brake stopped, peeled seat form ar$e and got out. looks round the back and theres a bit of metal in the road looked on front wheel and theres no disk behind it. bloody disc had gone bang

sooo to get home out come the mole gripps onto front flexi. cable tie up and gently drive home then set too changing the discs

there is a moral here and it is dont order parts 3 months ago and forget to fit them

good for the enviroment - getting full life span out of them disks
ive known disks split in the past (non transit) and its mainly the sliding caliper that siezes causeing it - as well as being worn out

The horn on my van is terrible. Still passed the MOT though. I think its got sh*t in it or its been hit. got one off a Mondeo though that'll do for now. All little bits though that make vans a project and it keeps the progress report going. If you didn't have anything wrong with your van, you wouldn't be here

when i put angel eyes in my old bmw they were blue which i wired to the side lights. i asked an mot tester mate of mine if they would pas the mot and if i would get nicked for them he said as long as they light up then they were ok!!

As you have just proved, all do-able in one day

I do think the tester should have looked closer at the front disks though

well all i know is i wouldnt take a vehicle in with problems my mot man wouldnt be very happy with me attal ,as he told me before most mot guys get upset when things like bulbs, horn ,washers dont work

I did all the lights but not the horn

Took it in today and it still hasnt passed

Apparently the front to read brake pipe isnt the front to rear. He meant the one from the LAV to the flexi

and i have fitted a new Master cyl from a DRW MK3

Who decides how far a pedal can travel. The brakes passed the efficiency test

But the pedal had exxecive travel

I hope that i'm not speaking out of turn here but i'm with mad mark on this one, I always use the same garage for my MOT's and have done for the last 10 years or so and have built up a good relationship with them.
I always check vehicles over before taking them for a test and feel that if a vehicle of mine failed on something easily spotted not only would it be a waste of my time having to go back for a re-test but it would also be a waste of the garages time having to re-test my vehicle when it could have been avoided.

thats all well and good for you experts but i wouldnt have a clue what to check for an MOT and neither does my mum so i leave it for the MOT man
