1994 2.5d 4FB injector compatibility

Postby EastTexasRed » Sun Oct 26, 2025 4:49 pm

Hi folks, I need to change or recondition the injectors as the first step in getting my particulate emissions down (I've got as far as I can with the smoke screw, additives etc). Reconditioning them would be way more expensive than new IF the only new ones I can find are compatible. The current ones are Stanadyne 26469-J. Nothing comes up in a search for that. However, I can find 33706s for the 4HB which is slightly higher hp than my 4FB. Is there any reason why I couldn't use the 33706s? Would it have any effect on emissions? There wouldn't be any point substituting them if it doesn't help get the emissions down. I hope I've explained that clearly. Also, does anyone know of a resource for identifying/comparing injectors?

Thanx mucho.

This page has the part numbers

Two links both called "Fuel Lines And Fuel Filter; Diesel (AI)" on the page leading to parts diagrams ... you press on the number in the parts diagram and it scrolls you down to the injector part numbers and info on the engine horse power.

one iink on page takes you to a choice of CAV or bosch

the other // gives you diagram that has many part numbers and horse powers

http://www.catcar.info/ford/?lang=en&l= ... A9PUFJQjA1

to be honest so many choices, i would be confused .

They are the FORD part numbers .. some of which you can put into ebay and they will probably lead to more choices ... to stop it doing that make sure the search has the part number with
Quotation marks (" ") example "1074415" or ebay will lead you astray.

Doing the (" ") results in top line description results only .. not vague stuff from within the listing.

all the best.mark

4FB is a 70PS engine

The injector type fitted is dependant on the year but they shouldn't really be mixed.

I haven't got the injector lists to hand - but it sounds like you either have quite an early, or the wrong injectors.

There would be no issue in you fitting a set of 33704 (70PS) or 33706 (76PS) injectors

95 Hallmark
96 150 100PS LWB Hi-Top
96 Autosleeper Duetto

09 140PS T330S 2.2

Has your engine got a Lucas injection pump?
I had a look and the only Stanadyne number I can see like that for a 70hp Transit is 26964 for a 88 -94 70hp with Lucas pump, do yours have white dots on them?
https://www.merlindiesel.com/product/no ... -white-te/

Also if it helps 33405, and 33704 as Matt said, are both fitted to later 70hp engines.
