2017 transit 350 won’t start ?

Postby billthebird » Sun Jan 25, 2026 7:47 pm

I have a mk 8 transit my mk 7 blew up !
I have an issue ! All lights on dashboard are on I press the clutch, turn the key and nothing, no clicks just nothing. It has only one battery and I checked the voltage on the battery and it was 12 volts I’ve been using it all week and not a problem till today, I tried jump starting it with my jumper pack but still nothing. I’ve just been out there to turn the lights on see if they are working perfectly, has anyone got any idea what could be causing this issue ?
Thank you

well really you have to plug in a scanner to see what's going on these days , until then check earths , thick leads from the battery etc

check the fuses and relays out

It could be that the clutch switch is faulty, or possibly, that you're not pressing it down all the way

1997 Mk5 SWB 115 Minibus 70ps Di (Gone, but not forgotten!)

I’ve plugged in a scanner and no fault codes went to check fuses in engine compartment and there are only 10 fuses and 3 relays in there so now I’m pretty stumped as to what it can be ? All lights come on and I have to press the clutch to start it but nothing

so you are telling me how many fuses and relays there are, have to checked them ,
two of the relays .. you may be able to swap over to Prove that one is faulty. - starter relay R13 with R14 heated windshield

if all ok ...... then its the clutch pedal switch .. as AL said .. or immobilizer .. or the thick earths and positives need taking off cleaning , putting back on again

9 years old now so so ... plenty of time for damp and corrosion to get to these earth points and leads ... the red lead to the starter takes its journey via the stud on the back of the alternator ..

immobiliser - not sure how your keyfob battery works
