Hello Guys,

Just bought a 55 reg connect with 21k on the clock and have some questions.

I upgraded from a berlingo as i work nationwide and wanted something a bit larger, faster and more comfortable.

Pleased so far and have already added 5k in the first month, mileage now at 26k.

Had a disaster on collecting the van though - the turbo blew after 19 miles!! The garage were great and came straight away and gave me another van to use - since then its been fine. Why would the turbo blow at such a low mileage? Im wondering if it had been sat for a while and one of the seals was dry or something???

My only other gripe is fuel consumption. At the moment im struggling to get 350 miles out of a single tank on motorway driving? Is this normal? Could others post there fuel figures?

Its a t200 TDDI, What are the service intervals and is there anything specific i need to be worrying about or checking regular?

There has been a couple of problems with connect turbos seizing, I think it was something to do with a bad batch of bearings???, but they seem to have overcome that problem now

Fuel consumption, hate to tell you this, but that seems about the norm for a Tddi (I asked a few customers what theres do!!), you would have been better going for the 90ps Tdci, it might be worth looking into getting it remapped/chipped.

Service intervals are every 15000 miles or 1 year (which ever comes first), there isnt really alot that goes wrong with them apart from front tyres wear out in no time and ther has been a few with rear anti roll bar link arm brackets snapping off (but ford has welded thicker brackets on now!!), so all in all, there a good little van, all be it you look like postman pat if you drive a red one

I struggle to get more than 320 out of a tank on the TDCi, there again I drive like my ar53 is on fire... on motorways of course...

Allways 400 miles to a Tank sometimes 450 depending on how i drive

hi mate your lucky 350 to the tank i have a o7 and i get 29 to 30 mpg,when in the book says will do 50mph,so took 2 fords,they say they cant sort it coz there is no computer info at fords ha ha wel funny,

i get about 320-350 miles per tank out of mine tdci lwb/hr driving sensibly aswell although ive got a full galvroof rack and a few pairs of big ladders on

hi mate would you beieve that i took my van to fords to check my fuel ecom,coz only getting 29 mpg,fords told me sorry mate cant check the pump ect coz they have no data for the 07 transit ha ha

On my last tank (31/01/2008 ESSO Std £1.059 per liter. Diesel same pump each time) fill-up I got 44.7mpg at 38.8mph average speed Max.RPM 3545 Min.RPM 904
Road type and driving conditions
Approx. 60% Carmarthenshire Country Roads 5% Swansea city 35% M4 motorway (Dam engine diesel fed pre-heater on a lot at the moment in the cold)
1/2 load all the time (Big Electric wheelchair weight 21 stone), me not far off that , wife 9ish stone, Golden Retriever dog and sometimes 2 teenage daughters

I have a Scangauge II. MPG - Trip Computer - Digital Gauges - Scan Tool gauge which is plugged into the OBD-II port. This is proving to be brilliant and very accurate and has helped big time in improving the economy by trying different things and driving techniques (I know, I'm sad but I like to play ) .
I use 1ml per ltr of MILLERS OIL - DIESEL POWER SPORT 4 additive from Fastonline which works out at £0.011998 per ltr, alot cheaper than Shell posh fuel! . a German amh-Booster „TWICE“ tuning box set on second setting and a K&N air filter.
