My Mk5 100 2.5Di (SWB/SHR with roof rack but usually lightly loaded) used to average 30mpg around rural North Yorks with the odd long run thrown in. It was a 70ps model.

On a long motorway run through France, however, it managed 40mpg at a steady 60mph all day, which I was quite impressed with 8)

Went to Cornwall last weekend in the camper towing a trailer with motorbike and awning in it, did 650 miles at an average of 25mpg.

Worst bit was coming up the fosse way, being diverted and go round Leicester outer ring road got just under 24mpg, best was on dual carriage way 26 mpg.

Speed was not very impressive, 50 - 60 mph, on some of the hills was down to second gear and 20 mph. Traffic was light and the only time there was a queue behind was when I was being held up by Sunday drivers.

That stinks..is that on a run ?

Despite a FMoCo 50K service, my LPG/Petrol 2003 still will only do 175 miles to a LPG tank - thats 15.5mpg..

Mines a MR/MWB loaded with ladders and kit, but 90% driving in London town - mind you, a run doesn't do much else for it either..

Done any thing else to yours ?

Cheers
