Hi Folks. :D

Best MPG was going down the M1 unloaded to the Transit meet last Monday at the Ace Cafe.I got 41.3MPG! 99.0Miles exactly, average speed 43MPH acording to the trip computer in my MK7 Jumbo.I must admit to using big truck to sit behind and setting the cruise control to 56 mph on the motorway but i did get stuck in a traffic jam for 20min/2miles on the North circular.I told Mr LDV man BigBeefy this when i got to the Ace Cafe and he said something along the lines of no way  so i showed him the trip computer readout,i think he nearly fell over in suprise!
On a recent trip up to Inverness fully loaded i got 31.0MPG doing 70 on the motorways,65 on duel carrageways and 60 on the single lane bits.Return trip 60 mph all the way home.

Regards ~ Dom.

Just got back from a Trip to UK to pick up a Kubota mini tractor in Norfolk. Total mileage included in the check was just a tad under 900 miles with about 95% motorway or A roads (50-55 mph) and 5% stop-and-go in West London and Essex/Kent. The first tank had my normal cocktail of acetone and 2-stroke oil as per the postings on this forum and the van was empty apart from a couple of gallons of vitamin W for my mates and a small tool box. The second tank was just neat diesel and was measured with the tractor in the back and a pair of wheels & tyres bought from a member of this forum, a pair of loading ramps and a whole heap of building supplies a mate donated to the latest project here in Brittany. The first tank gave me 35 to the gallon and the second tank (with the load) gave 32 to the gallon. I'm well pleased. The Great white whale is a '99 lwb hi-top with the non-turbo banana lump.

I just have one question for the Oracles at the forum. I noticed that the GPS corrected speed is 55mph when the dash needle reads 60. I was thinking that if there is an error in the actual speed, is there also an error on the odometer? Both functions are taken from the same drive off the gearbox. If so, then all our calculations for mpg will be b*ll*cks anyway by this amount of error!

last five fills 2002 125 350 2.4td Jumbo with varying weights up to a tonne and varying roads around the highlands sit at 60 when I can

466 miles 66 litres didnt brim this one BP diesel
478 miles 72 litres BP Ultimate
472 miles 70 litres BP Ultimate
477 miles 69 litres BP Diesel
473 miles 70 litres BP Diesel

gives approx 30.99 miles to the gallon

The bp ultimate did seem to give more oomph but the fuel savings were not evident although I dont so the same runs on the same tank of fuel twice
The last fill I have just filled up with is from Morrisons to see how it compares.

The only things I can't allow for is not filling from the same pump as I go to different places, so the measure that particular pump will differ to the next

all speedos read over , so your always doing less than you think, but if you check milage with GPS you'll prob find it will be spot on.

ah, yes, they are BUT, the speedo has no direct linkages, its a moving coil/magnetic field that "drags" the needle round, whereas the odometer, though in the same casing and using the same drive TO the facia is a mechanical drive, at least on non-flybywire vehicles........if im right

my last tank was mainly motorway

the trip computer showed that the range when i filled up would be 479 miles till empty

i managed to squeeze out 718 miles ebfore i chickened out and filled it up with 78 litres of fuel

apparently that gives me an mpg of 41.85 and a cost of 11.19p/m

this is with a fridge unit on the top poking out about a foot above the roofline and the fridge being on all the way

i can't give you in town figures until later, but i've never really got above around the 25mpg mark what with the traffic and stopping anf starting

2001 100 T280, get around 500 miles to a tank so it averages about 28 MPG. Not too bad when your carrying two sets of ladders and a fair bit of weight in the back. Noticed the fuel gauge always says less than is actually in there tho cos when i fill up and its just about to reach the empty line it still has about 15 quids worth in.

ive had 520 miles without the light coming on, and 559 fillup taking 66.76 ltrs (= 38.06 mpg), with the tank capacity of 17.6 gallon/80 ltr should give a max of 668 miles - if you wanna risk looking a lemon when you run out...

Hi, 115 350 MK7 luton with an aero body.... 300 mile round trip 90% motorway at 65-70mph gave approx 22mpg.
Not really that much worse when I have a load on. My MK 5 non turbo luton ( shaped like a brick) returns approx 18mpg
so I guess the new van is about 20% better on fuel, which is why the road tax is only £125.... cheers.
