That's a very good point Rover, specially with permanent signwriting. The good news is lutons are more difficult to get into than vans, and those with taillifs even more so. In twenty years we have had only one attempt, on a van locked with an ingersol padlock. Bolt cutters were attempted and it left an indentation on the shackle, but they didn't get in. The padlocks cost about £130 (we have since changed to an even heavier duty type!) and are used with an ERA hasp costing £40. The only other way in is actually through the side of the body, which is very very rare, or take the lot and have a go at it elsewhere. To try to avoid that you need good deadlocks and immobilisor. In this day and age I don't set too much store by alrms, as they largely get ignored. I don't see any locks at all on your doors Jim. Without giving too much away, what's all that about??

Rover, i'm in Attenborough and the tool cab comes off every night to where my German Shepherd/Husky cross looks after them. Er yes Fred no locks, got rid of those befor the cab was sprayed.

About your locks (or lack of). What do you do if the electrics fail (eg dead battery)? Have you a cunning way of opening the doors...

I had on old van with knackered locks that I disconnected and retro-fitted central locking and what I did was leave two wires under the front that connected directly to the solenoid so if the power failed I could stuff 12v accross the wires and pop the doors. Neat, If a little crude.

Its hard to believe I have never seen you around seeing as you are less than a mile from me Just up the road on the border of Bramcote and Chilwell.

About the locks,erm i'm not telling for obvious reasons. Mr Rover, yes it was me selling my swb 80 about Sept last year due to trapped ciatic nerve a career change was called for. This is a hole new venture,probably why you've not seen me yet but on saying that i've not seen you and i brake my neck when a Transit goes by so it's got to happen as we're so close.

Speaking of Sciatic nerve, I empathise, I am trying to recover from a ruptured disk right at the bottom of my spine....Bloody painfull!!

i can get 4/5 trials bikes easyily in the back of my hicube
