you must have a leak, and may be airlocked when refilled, check all hoses, connections, and waterpump

hi, are the pipes that run to the heater matrix from the engine hot or cold . because i had a thermerstat stick, which in turn stopped the heated water getting to thr cab. i hope this helps.

well, you must surely have a leak if your chuckin that much coolant in, you need to find where its losing it, what did the temp gauge read when the heater started blowing out cold air?

I dont think antifreeze will make much difference here, it wont be in the engine long enough  there wont be anything to freeze around the block and head, there has to be a leak somewhere !

I bet your water pump is leaking, as an indication that it is about to fail
