I have to say that you're certainly challenging conventional thinking with that install.
Once the back of the box is on Mike there is not 1% flex. I agree you can add some supports internally like triangle braces but when I tested it and had it in my van for over a year it was fine.
The top two subs are ported can not remember the size of the box or port but if I remember right it was set to produce seriously low frequency's which only very few sub's can produce properly around 20hz I remember right
The reason I did not port the bottom box was the top two were a test to see how they went and boi they went well, But on some tracks which have very tight bass the sealed ones sounded better there was more of a hit from the bass rather then a shake that you get from the ported ones. So this was why I decided to leave the bottom box sealed so you can have best of both and it seemed to work really well. It was a test which went in the right direction.
It all depends on how mad you are what sort of music you listen to how much you have to spend where is it going in before you can make up your mind.
I heard 6 x 8" Kicker subs the other day in the back of a Focus, they may be 8" but they aint blooody cheap and boi are they powerful 450Rms each, the bass is so tight from them in a sealed box that when you sit in the drivers seat it actually moves your head for you moves your head
I think I may get two to use as some serious Mid bass
