modding rear seats

hi everyone im after changing my seats so that there really comfy for my girls .. The spec i want is low and comfy like a leather 3 seater with maybe a rock and roll bed action ...anyone any ideas....anyone wanna help me ...can i attach a wooden fraem to a metal subframe or is that a no no for safety?

if they are forward facing seats then they must meet certain safety standards and must all have safty belts

ive had a look at the standard seats that the sponsers have but not really the look im after, i want it to look like a proper leather settee with seatbelts ...i think i can see a trip to my mate with the welder i think a good starting point will have to be a futon steel sofa bed ...

Ive seen some nice granny leather rear seats in the past, but they dont look flat enough when layed out

its not just the seat belts that are the issue but the construction on the seat and frame
they must confirm to
bs 3254 part 1
be kite marked and E marked for eec regulations
if they are not marked with these a compliance certificate may be asked for which would require a inspection from vosa
be very carfull just because they have belts this doen not tell you how the seat its self will react if you had a accident

what if i use the seats that are in and pad them out and recover ....thats gotta be ok ...hasnt it

yes ive got some in mine now but there a little bus like...hard and no good for long journeys

i finally did it...... i took the bus like seats out and put in 3 seats out of a fiat multipler..i had to slightly modify the rear arhes with a hammer only 5 mm ....the middle seat had a prefixed seatbelt , but the outer seats i had to attach the seatbelt mechanism to the bottom rear of the seats and the top holder ive bolted to the colomn near the rear door hinges ....the whole job took 2 of us 2 hours ...could be done quicker with a ratchet gun but im happy .....gonna carpet it tomorrrow......arnt i posh with the reclining seats
