Here she is, not the best pic (scanned in polariod). Taken when she last came back from the paintshop. Since then we had to open the seams, so not a pretty now, but will be again. This is a very subtle job, so look closely. It's more obvious from the other side, where the side door is!

I like that it almost looks stock!! a 70's transit jumbo!! Has there been much chassis strengthening done?

OOOOOh yes! Two different professionals have said that infact she's been over-engineered on the chassis front. The body seams, however, haven't been taken such good care of. I am thinking of passing her off as a prototype for the MK2 extra LWB panel!

LWB or SWB? As you can see she's a single wheel. We tried powder coating after shot blasting, but found the finish too delecate for work (standard twin wheels)

ok ... you got me confussed now .... is that a twin rear wheel or single .... you kind of pointed to both in your last post and i cant really tell from the picture .... i had assumed it was a twin due to the rear arches and inset on the wheels

the ones i have are standard twin rear wheel versions, shot blasted, etch primed and then sprayed with symonize wheel steel, will see how durable it is i guess

there is a guy in bristol advertising one new wheel and tyre on ebay (and this is the second one he has advertised, so i might email him and ask him how many he has)

for now the wheels i have only owe me the time to shot blast them and the paint, which wasnt as cheap as i would have liked .... takes a lot to do 7 of the little buggers

Our stretch is actually single wheel, with big fat wheels and tyres, hence the arches. All our working vans are twin wheels, and we are very picky about having Mk2 wheels only. Yours would look nice on our extra luton (see extra extra luton), though as you said time will tell how delecate the finish is.....

ahh ... my bad ... i thought they were twins with the single version front ones fitted (its only a case of ripping off the hub extender and fitting the single wheel version to get single version fronts to fit)

i went for a twin rear deliberately as i wanted the load capacity

You are on my case tonight aren't you Cam??!! Again slowly but surely, this one is still near us at our repair garage, the reason the Mk1 was held up was the body man's business partner upped and left. The idea was to get the Mk2 out first, and swap her for the Mk1. We got sick of waiting and sent the orange one North.
