Image
All so i had a look around my grandads shed's and field and boy did i find stuff and i mean stuff going to have anorther look again but this trip i found a campervan tolit, fuse box, a bit of work top just enough to do my work tops, sink well lots of sinks  , fog lamps, camper friged, a lenght of gas pipe, a odd looking thing that came of a 4X4, a few 3 ton car jacks and a 10ton jack, there is more stuff there but you need a day or two to find things.

Poor van, I think it was asking you to give it a break over the holiday, It might just feel a little under the weather.

Well done Tom been a nice read mate. Love it when peeps "have a go". If i could offer a little advice. If you ever decide to do this type of thing again then get yourself some 18 and 25mm mdf and make your units out of that. Works out cheaper than WBP, also would give a better finish.

On a finishing note, get yourself to B&Q or screwfix and pick up a cheap 6-8mm 1200w router. Id round the table edges off both sides and the cupboard handles etc. Will round and soften everything off nicely for you.

WELL DONE MATE.

Gareth

Thank i did think of mdf or something like that but i tought it would be a pain to cut any way i'm now thinking of redoing it in a year or so as there is a few thing that i don't like and i got some more bits but we will see i wonder will my mate help me next time
i am redoing the table as i don't like it much and i still have to sand the doors

I have thought about using a router on the table edges but i'm no good with one

I did some more 12v stuff got my camper lights working this is going to take time as i hate wiring not many pictures as its all the same red black green ect coloured wires going here and there  and i found out why the van loves fan belt my alternator is shacking like mad as the bottom bolt is fecked and keep lossing up and the top bolt is the same other word my alternator is trying to make a break for it  so thats a job to fix plus the accelerator as now started gething stiff so a few tasks to do time to rob the bank as my oil change is due well over due and the exhaust as blow a new hole oh well all jobs i can do my self

Oh happy new year to all

Id defo do it on mdf if you did it again. Will paint up lovely too. The router is simple to use mate, does all the work for you. Just have a practice on a little off cut. You cant go wrong. Also if you buy the mdf from b and q and take the sizes off the pieces you want, they will cut it for you. :D 25mm for the table and 18mm for everything else. If you use the tradepoint part then you get alot of discount. Pm me if you do and ill send you my postcode so you can use my trade account :D

if you have b and q ware houses over there mate then i cant see why not. Would just have to say you worked for me. Failing that, make yourself a letter head of a company called Red Cube Joinery or summit and open your own. Costs nothing. You just have to pose as a trader. :D

Fixed my alternator had to get new bolts which where hard to find i must have looked at every mk5 di to get the bolts of and every one i seen had none and i must have been to every scrap yard in Co Clare wasn't fun so i found a mk4 and took the bolts of that it worked no more shacking and not a noise from the belt so thats one job done so nice to be ably to drive with the lights on again

And i fitted my yellow spots to my a bar not wired yet but i think i have enough lights

A curtin rail above the sliding door hope to fit a curtin here soon must move that wheel been there for a long time now almost a year now
Image
Oh my roof lights there orange and the side ones are white faceing fowards and red backwards look nice at night
Image
Oh and the clutch in my starlet went took it for a drive and the clutch started slipping thats what happenes when you let your brother drive your car i put a clutch in to that car at 15,000 miles ago gave him the car at 14,000 and the car was never right  it did make a nice sound going up the road sound like a rally car with clutch smoking pouring from under the bonnent  i hope it was clutch smoke
