Postby tonyxno1 » Wed Sep 13, 2006 6:08 pm

ok heres my problem tourneo 2.5 td auto seized solid n i mean cooked 95 .ive got 2.5 diesal out my twin wheel which is a peach lump fast as fook 92
the td is epic system . can i just swop all bits over from one to the other ? are they both them same or will i find differance cos i hate get half way fitting n find they differnt castings
is there a differance in the td to normal aspirated engine build ie rings ?

They are essentially the same block but the turbo lumps are apparently of a lower compression. I don't think you are going to get a definitive answer as i'm not sure if anyone has tried bolting everything from a 95 turbo lump onto a 92 Di.

I'd go for it - there's only a small difference in compression ratios between the two engines (20.6:1 as opposed to 18.3:1) just use the block and head and bolt all your ancillaries on (including injectors) - I would guess it'll be a shade quicker than it was before as well :D

Tony, I'll be at the IOW on 16th along with about 30 other 'different ' vehicles. You'll have to look hard to find my highly modified Transit !! It'll be satin black and rust coloured.
