hi guys
here are some pictures of the engine bay with the bonnet up

this must b one of the few if not only mk6 that u pop the bonnet from in side the cab an not use the key thou the front grill
there is quite a lot of room behind the head light on both sides for batterys, i only hav one fitted at the moment but the wiring is in place and ready for a second one i just need to fit a battery tray and the second battery can go in,
the hardest part to get right under the bonnet was the bonnet catch but with a little fabrication i got there in the end

this is one more pic of the truck from the side, in total the hole change has cost £350 for all the parts an paint, but as i hav done the work my self the labour cost has bin £0 and from start to finish the prodject has taken me two weeks

but i guess my question is, why not just buy a Mk6? or are you one of them who enjoy a challenge.. i used to be, but it was too much effort.

i had a similar thought... what prompted the thought and decision to do the conversion?
i mean its not even like it was a small job..

i would have done a mk7 conversion instead but still a great job. especially with the wings by crafting the 2 together. Great job though and ive never seen it done but as stated i reckon alot of people will be doing this as the bits are cheap to get hold of for a mk6 now. Great job mate. Very impressed! :D

Really nice job mate, have you thought about making up conversion kits for others who'd like the same. Judging from the comments I'm sure they'd sell well... ;)

i did this ages ago but well done nice conversion how did you say you sorted the bonnet as i had to use bonnet raisers 1 bolt in the bonnet and weld the rest of the hinge to the bonnet and i left my original crash bar in place can i ask why you had to change yours also i cut my new wings in half long ways then lengh ways so it would retain the strengh from the original slam panel and wing braces that way i only had to cut 2 small square holes where the indicators used to be if some1 can tell me how to add pics will upload some to show you how to do it without the buldge in the wings
