well here are the pics of the dash i got out of the doner transit - it has a fair few holes cut in it for radios ect but that can be sorted out AND it comes woth a custom soft dash top which dispite its looks has cleaned up mint but it needs a repair in one corner - it wasnt as difficult to get out as i thought - just a hacksaw, hammer and cold chissle to hand

was out of a blue swb auto minibus - could have been an ambulance for transporting old people as it had a side door and rear door step and a "dorset ambulance crew do it for free" sticker in the window :?:

got on with a bit more work, primarily the preparation of the dashboard

Image
first stage the dash blasted

Image
second stage painted with red oxide
theres a little more work to do on the dash e.g a bit of welding and painting but that will come a bit later

Image
also started to treat the custom dash top - painted the back in grey primer - i need th replace the bottom corner as the metal backing has rotted away - also bought some black stretchy type leather material to eventually recover it

Image
also found a rear valance to replace my damaged one

that pash panel is a bit crusty round the edges :? i think i'd be tempted to join it further in  especially as you've got the dash top to cover it :D

dont worry ill be getting lots of pics when the convertion happens - im not sure if it will be done by gaydon or not - if not ill just turn up allbeit still LHD

need to talk with vosa to find out what the guidlines for a RHD convertion are - to see if theres anything specific we need to do incase they want to test the vehicle - things like block up all bulkhead holes to prevent fumes entering the cab..ect
