hello, i was chatting with my dad about banded wheels and he said a long time ago he had a problem with an MGA he had, it had big wheels on it and diddnt have power stering so it was difficult to manouver - would this be a problem for a transit mk1/2 LWB or SWB if it had banded wheels and no power steering?

It depends on how much tyre surface area is on the road, you can still band a wheel a little and have the same tyre with a marginal increase in surface contact. If you where talking 1" plus, you would be adding a larger tyre no doubt, so for a poor steering box, it could get a tad heavy. Or find a very rae power steering box set up £££££££££
