Ive been on here for a bit now and Just thought I would put some pics up of my mk6, it getting on a bit and I'm always on a budget, but I do love my transit!



So far with all your help it has been serviced, repaired and modified. Big plans, but small budget!

Ok, it's been a while since I've started this post, but I've done a lot of little bots and pieces.

Blanked egr, bashed out dpf, fitted new seats from mk7 and wheel and airbag, new stereo and my favourite mod is my new interior lights and sunglasses holder
i am tempted to paint the mirrors and I'm saving for the wheels, I'm off the fags, so the savings got a boost!

I'm afraid it's out with the grinder and drill for the steering wheel the light and glasses holder is from a high spec mondeo cool isn't it

It's pretty easy, you just cut up an old mk6 wheel and make a boss for th new one, the airbags are compatible

been busy this week, mk7 dash and plastics!still need a few bits, drivers door card,speedo cowel adjusted, switch for the mirrors+the bit above the cup holder for the mirror adjuster and new seals or cover plate at the door checksstill got these to fit! but have to wait on the selector comming .

this bit needs a bit of work the whole thing wasn't to bad a job, worst part lifting the dash in myself and lining up the heater ducts! the heater controls are from the mk6, just needed to swap cable on the temp dial for a longer one, and needed a light switch that had front fogs

Right, been asked about the steering wheel abit, here goes,

Take a mk6 wheel, best to get a spare, just incase then I cut out the marked section. Next get your new wheel and grind of the boss at the backthen bolt the new wheel to the bit cut of the mk6 wheel. Cut out the slot for the airbag/horn wires and the main bolt goes through the new wheel centre and the old boss, sandwiching everything together

Thread lock everything and you probably want to disconnect the battery too!

My wheels came today but wrong part for the gear selector! Annoying as I wanted to finish the dash!
Fitted the mirror adjuster in the new cup holder and modded the switch, we'll chuffed with the switch, looks good and all the lights work too!ive left them in the hall, so the missus will keep bumping into them, With a bit of luck she'll tell me to just get the tyres on her card so she can get them out the house
