2013 Ford Transit - Feast Your Eyes

seen the new 2013 transit in scarbrough outside ford dealership yesterday.i nearly pulled my own eyes out!! it looks horrid!!

That is gastly!! Looks even worse than the turdwaggons that Renault/Vauxhall/Fiat turn out. It looks too similar, very generic. The Transit was always very destinctive - you knew the difference between a Transit and "the rest" - take the badge off it and nobody would be none the wiser. Thats clearly built for american market just like the Ford Focus is. Would be a big mistake to alienate UK buyers - Fords are well into premium brackets now, Ford is not a premium brand name and people are getting tighter. You dont buy a Ford, you buy a Merc if you want upmarket. Huge disapointment.

If you`re old enough to remember,very similar comments were probably made about the Mk3.What a difference that was to the Mk1 and 2.Then, vehicles and especially commercials were designed on a drawing board not on a computer and in a wind tunnel.Most eurobox cars are very similar now................snout nose and arse end up in the air.Look at GM,VAG,BMW,Nissan and all the French stuff.The ony real competition for early Ford Transit was the Bedford CF and Leyland Freight Rover (Sherpa).
If you are a Ford person what else are you going to buy that doesn`t look a bit like a Mk8.I think that when we have seen the complete range,optional extras and bodykits available,many opinions might change.

Sadly, Im am old enough to remember the MK3, I was amazed by its shape back then, but I definately didnt dislike it. I thought it was great when I got one as a campany van.
But, I must admit, it looks like Ford have just fell into line with everyone else, swb = Jap, lwb = german looks

The UK version may well be dummed down a bit, like Merc do with the Sprinter, it gets the big hideous chrome grill for the US market

Seriously? One of the criticisms that's been thrown at the Custom is that it looks like a B Max because it has the Ford corporate face. Instantly recognisable as a Ford IMO.

You can always tell a transit is a transit, but i think they have always been behind the ford cars in design, but the now custom is bang upto date!
