Mk6 to mk7 front end conversion Pics

Postby looneyfitter » Thu Jan 02, 2014 5:41 pm

Well today I started my conversion. I removed all the front end and phoned the Breakers to see if they had any mk7's in.. Haven't rang me back yet,

I will add pics later on tonight.

Question tho for others that have done it before. Is the main reason for changing the windscreen scuttle just so you have the bracket to support the window wiper mechanism??

I'm thinking I could make a bracket easy enough if that's the case.

I doubt these will have been removed by the breakers and would be a lot of work to take them off to reuse. My local Evans Halshaw got the wing & scuttle parts I needed on next day delivery.

Thats who i rang today mate waiting for them to call back.. The upper wing is only 5/6 spots so should be easy enough, just going to mod the lower wing to fit. ...Im hoping they will cut the scuttle at the screen for me. WOnder if they will let me loose in there with my wizzer.... Dont really wanna pay £100 for parts either tbh as im selling it.

Do you know of any othere breakers local to us that you can take your own bits off?
