Speed limiter removal

Can anyone recommend somewhere to get a speed limiter removed in Sheffield? Can any garage do this? And how much should it cost roughly?

I have just bought a 2011 Mk7 Transit and the dealer neglected to mention the limiter - the cheeky blighter!

Is it a minibus..?? If so you may not be able to.

If not, download Forscan and do it yourself.

Downloading Forscan is a fine idea, however I have no clue what I would need to do, so that is out the window!

A garage will charge up to 75quid just to plug in, let alone fix anything, you can set yourself up with Forscan for less than 20....then you'll have it for the life ov your Transit.

Forscan is very user friendly too.

Based on the advice of Knobby1 and others I downloaded Forscan last weekend and hooked it up with an interface from Amazon. Forscan was free and the usb interface was about £17. Well worth the effort, I was able to read my faults codes off straight away.

Forscan is pretty user friendly, so if it can remove the speed limiter it’s worth getting.

I too recommend forscan, it's already saved me hundreds in garage costs and was very convenient for coding a spare key. If you need help with it then ask here but there is plenty of info on here and the forscan forum.

what is the procedure in forscan for removing the speed limiter? I have looked but cant seem to find how/where to do it.

Have you actually had a play around with it plugged into the van?

I can't remember the exact step by step but it was easy to use if a little stressful when it rewrites your configuration.

If you can find this screen then you've got it. I think it was in the bcm but I did it a couple of years ago now.
